Who's lost the plot now? This has not been an easy week. AJ was sick tuesday night so was off school on wednesday. Typical - I had a chiropody appointment and an important work meeting. Luckily, grandparents came to the rescue. Tonight, after a 9hr stint at the hospital, AJ was sick again. It's his party on sunday and I desparately need friday to sort things out and now I've got to rearrange my plans and it's supposed to be raining on sunday as well!!
I'll explain why I was at the hospital for 9 hours and why I'm not in a good mood. I waited nearly 2 hours to see the doctor and then 2 hours for pharmacy to prepare the herceptin and then 2 hours to see the next doctor. My first encounter with the consultant was interesting. He started off by saying
'just waiting for your bone scan results'
me - 'I haven't had a bone scan. I had a CT scan'
Cons - 'The one you had in April'
me - 'I had a bone scan in April in 2005'
cons - 'no.you did have one'
At this point, I thought I must have completely lost the plot. How could I forget a scan that involves an injection, being radioactive and being in hospital for about 3 hours.
There was a knock at the door and the results arrived of my bone scan in, yes, 2005!!! Apparently, a bone scan was ordered in march but I've never received the appointment so now I've got to have one and wait for more results so rather disappointed and trying not to worry.
We then discussed the result of my bone scan.
Me - 'so it showed inflammation in my skin then'
Cons - 'No. It showed inflammation in your lung'
How could I have misheard 'skin' for 'lung'?
Then I asked about my numb toes and stiff and painful joints and was told it might never go or take a very long time to come back
My next encounter with a different doctor was to get the long line removed. This was not too bad but took about an hour and then I had to lay flat for 30 minutes.
All in all - not one of the easiest days.
Other than that , over the last 3 weeks I've been doing more but still get tired and short of breath and my verucca is still painful.
Think I'd better finish before I moan even more!!
